IFTA Zero return – A Brief Introduction

In life most of the important decisions are not made by us. So True, isn’t it? If you hold an IFTA license and do not report your IFTA on time you are liable for Penalties & Interests, this is a known fact. Another unknown fact is you need to file an IFTA report even if you have no taxable miles in that particular quarter. This is known as a “ZERO RETURN”.

Let’s say you did not operate interstate this quarter, i.e. from July 2016 till September 2016 or let’s assume that you did not use your truck at all. Still you have to Prepare and submit an IFTA return on or before October 31st, 2016, which is the deadline to submit your third quarter IFTA return.
